But the planet where the derelict crashes on the planet does not look like lv426. Not only was lv426 a very dark planet even after the atmosphere got established By weyland yutani many decades later on. Maybe there are more derelict ships with The goo or facehuggers. The question is, how did the sj in Alien got victimized By his own creation?

It could be LV426. Remember it is mention numerous times that the planet is volcanically active. After years/decades of volcanic activity all that ash would create a blanket over the planet making it darker.

It's also possible that the SpaceJockey presence on the planetoid is to terraform it. Once the Space Croissant, as Ridley calls it, crashes, perhaps the SpaceJockey terraforming stops and the planetoid returns to its more natural state between films.
