These two designs in particular haunt my dreams. They have become the symbols of my greatest fears. The dog alien in particular is rapid death in my dreams. Some of the things I have seen still concern me to this day (particularly because it was in my friggin mind).
The original is slow death...I see it coming, a wretched, terrible silhouette approaching me, then it grasps me and the last thing I see are silver teeth.
My point here, ladies and gents, is that the Alien franchise has had a profound impact on me. In particular, my creative writing. I often get inspired by my dreams. I am a better writer and a lighter sleeper because of these films. I have high hopes for Prometheus, and I am currently watching Bret get dragged up.
How has ALIEN affected you? A lot? Little? Or is it "What the hell is this guy talking about, it's just a movie."
