When John Hurt is lying on the table with the facehugger on his face and the helmet still on, how did the facehugger get through that small hole in the glass and attach to his face when it is 3 times the size of the hole, and they had to cut his helmet open in order to try and get it off? and if so it probably would have taken time to get to his face so how wasn't John Hurt able to stop it getting on his face? sorry if any of that didn't make sense hahaha i tried (Y)

No I hear you. Honestly I think it was one of those choices made by Scott and art department to keep the creature obscured to make the reveal more shocking when the helmet was finally removed.

I'm guessing its bone structure is flexible, like a shark's. Search on YouTube for videos of a problem-solving octopus - scientists trained it to squeeze through a tiny tube separating two tanks so it could get to its food. Plus the hugger was hot for Kane's nice warm face - snuggly...

I always figured the creature burned a small enough hole to get its tail through and wrap around his throat. He would have passed out and then the facehugger could get itself properly seated on his face. Also the fact that Kane completely let his guard down. He was curious and not really prepared to be attacked. Probably, as most of us would do, he panicked and didn't know how to react.

Ever seen a cat pass through a hole that looks way to small even for a mouse to pass? I have.

Hamsters can fit through holes that are a lot smaller than them. It was an alien parasite, and it was in a film, so it could do anything.
