I think that that Weyland does not extinguish a match...he quotes some one else who did verbally, what he physically does is rub his fingers together and trot around on stage and then get old and hide on the prometheus

Weyland quotes T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence Of Arabia) who puts out the match with his fingers. Lawrence: "The trick, Potter, is not minding it hurts"

I do believe that this is Weyland's way of saying he is up for getting this new technology that he somehow knows is out there, and that he knows it will include a certain amount of suffering to obtain. Because of his ambition he simply does not care how bad it will hurt, or whom he hurts.
"The trick, Potter, is not minding it hurts."

I believe the only way Weyland is on the Prometheus is if he is cryogenically frozen in order to keep him alive. Maybe David taking the vile out of the Ampule is to give life to his Father 'Peter Weyland' then the Engineers get angry because their technology has been stollen......

Weyland is on board the Prometheus....why else is Vickers suite sucking up so much power? I think Vickers is there to make sure Weyland's wishes are fulfilled, at any cost....instead she has a change of heart during the mission. She knows exactly why they are going to explore the Alien world (she may be his daughter or an Android). I'm thinking daughter....who else would Weyland trust?
