Old stuff, this has been already discussed in the past.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

NOTE
I am sure you know I was just kidding, no offense meant. Actually I used the search function to get to that result!
Keep up the good work!

Damn you NoxWord, i was going to post the same thing haha. But its a good point. I think for the new guys here, who are posting decent enough points, theyre probably surprised there is less activity on them, and they'd probably find a wealth of discussion that may make them post something we haven't seen.

I'm not trying to be a jerk with this, really I'm not, and I am of the opinion we need a sticky system (dunno why I didn't think of it earlier actually :-P) but we all need to remember that BugHunter built this place we all inhabit (and let's face it, how many of us aren't here daily?) from SCRATCH so there will be a few things that need tweaking, and I'm pretty sure he works on it whenever he can, he actually put a status up today saying he had an itch to do some tinkerin' with it, so, if anyone has any suggestions or sees anything that they think might need a tweak, PM him directly, I saw him say somewhere that way he can see what people think and put a priority on it to do depending on how needed it is. There was also a forum for anyone new to introduce themselves but I think it wasn't working for one reason or another.........
Bella........?
You'll keep........
Game's still on :-D
:-P
Anyways, peace to all, PM any of the staff if you have any questions about the site, which are of course moi :-D craigamore, Ripley Clone 8, Spartacus, Gem]n[, Snorkelbottom or BugHunter himself, and SEARCH YOUR BUTTS OFF before you start up a new thread, because there were some absolute corkers in the past and IF we'd managed to keep those going, there was a lot of really good discussion going on. I'd like to see at least 1 thread that cracks the 1000 post mark. I don't think we've had one make it that far yet, maybe hundreds, but not many..............

Yup, it's a pity that the topic threads don't *bump* to the top of the main 'discussion' listings pile when new comments are added to them on this site, as they get quickly dumped down the listings due to other threads being added so fast.
Unfortunately, a lot of great threads have gotten lost along the way because of this, and never given a chance for huge comment numbers they may have garned eventually.
WindoodMay 06, 2012
Yep, I agree with cervantes there, that would encourage using the search function and less duplication, and may make the newer repetitive threads go invisible to people if no one bothers to reply.
NoXWordMay 06, 2012
There have also been several topics about bumping, and if there were a bumping function those topics would be on top becau...

*shakes head at you lot* What have I started?!?! :-P
the topics do kinda get bumped but no one is checking the page they get bumped on

I've suggested to BugHunter this is the page you get directed to when you log in.

Also, I think we need a sticky option for the threads that WILL be posted on more often. Searching still works, but not all the time, and with 300 pages of previous threads I can understand why no one wants to check them all manually.........

Why aren't there CATEGORIES for broad topical areas UNDER the Prometheus Discussions umbrella. Is that a design limitation of this technology platform?
ShaneMay 06, 2012
Bumping is literally the only way. Search and find a thread on page 30 and well, reply and nothing will happen. Also, this site literally logs me out every time i leave it if i use safari on it. So maybe the option to stay logged in forever would also be nice.
I ignore the community page, it kinda hurts my eyes. Too much going on. Bumping man, bumping.

CypherMay 06, 2012
Any suggestions? This was to bump as well

the problem with certain topics being pinned by staff is where does it draw the line between subjective / objective reasoning?
Well, we get to decide....That's why we are staff. Do you wish to apply?
...and yer posted this in the wrong thread. DELETE!

I've been guilty of not doing this a couple of times. So I'll be searching from now on.
But, can we consolidate two similar threads? I'd like to see that happen so that contributors to one thread that didn't know about another thread don't just lose all of their comments.

I just typed "HASSLED" into the search box and got 0 hits.
But typing this into Google works perfectly:
