Fords convulsions

Kate Dickie's character, Ford, hasnt been talked about much. In one of the trailers, we see her going into convulsions, while something seems to be walking towards her in the temple (if someone can help me with the clip i'd appreciate it). She can also be seen helping the "old man" along through the hangar doors. Has anybody discussed her significance? And what type of reaction she's having in the temple? It's reminicent of Ash's reaction to the bump on the head in Alien (other than the absence of milk spewing out of her mouth)...and she seems to be in (who we've come to assume is) Weylands corner.
