Should there be another film with a Gigeresque Planet?

Yes. This franchise is about the Giger visual universe anyways, it's the one thing that makes Alien different from other space and monster movies. Why they got a bunch of inferior designers to make creatures for Prometheus, I do not know, but the Gigerverse is deserved of more exploration.

Also known as a Borg cube. Such a film would still need a great script, dialogue etc to fly.

Wasn't something of a similar nature attempted with regards to Alien 3? There was to be some sort of space faring monastry - a wooded hull/ space frame of some description. Either on Fiorina Fury 101 or else above ground. Or below ground but a wooden frame of sorts or I seem to remeber hearing of a kid of Space station made out of wood! I know that sounds strange but I'm sure I did read that somewhere a long while ago but it was disregarded as was many, many ideas surrounding that Alien franchise debacle (Alien 3 that is) An... o.k. film. Just o.k. But how those ideas, if I'm right that is, could be realised is one worth thinking about. But then who would have guessed that we would have the Giger influence that we have had with regards to Alien and all the others and now :Prometheus!!! Go on Giger!!! Bring on the GIGER BIO-ENGINEERED MECHANICAL DEATH_STAR!!!!! YEAH, BABY!!!!! YEAH!!!! It makes me want to Eat Somethin' Else whilst thinking about it! lol!

i like this idea. also you may be interested in a manga called "BLAME!" which features and interesting mechanical world which actually engulfs the earth and the moon, and features some interesting ideas and creatures. it seems to be just slightly influenced by h.r. giger but its more mechanical. it features an absurd amount of layers...

Yes it's not an Alien film without Giger!

Giger has a very distinct look and feel. It would be hard to use his work specificaly without it looking like Alien or Prometheus. I remember when the Species movie first came out and thinking the posters were too much like Alien because they used Giger's designs.

I think Giger is probably the most influential living artist of our modern time. So much so that he has artistically defined what Hell/Heaven? is really going to be like. When I think of what I like about Alien, which is that world Giger has created, I want to see more of it. That's really what I hope Prometheus accomplishes for me is to travel to an alien biomechanical subterranean catacombs of beautiful hellish insanity in all it's grand dark abandonment of human logic. IN 3D

Prometheus reaks of Giger!! There is such a thing as too much.....it's not an art show afterall. There has to be a difference between Human design/Alien design and non-alien realms. Otherwise it becomes Giger: The Movie.
