Engineers motive to attack same as Klaatu ?

May be the true reason for the Engineers to attack Earth was because they realise that they realise the need to saveEarth from his creations - the humans. They understand that we were to multiply and destroy Earth ourselves. This seems to echo the logic of Klaatu from "[i]The Day the Earth Stood Still[/i]" - the need to protect worlds which can sustain life. Please share your ideas on this .
