I thought Ridley was adamant that no scenes were cut?? Oh that cheeky devil! Shame the movie was cut, those 30 min would have made the movie better, it was so rushed..

yeap me too, But if you watch the video you will have some answers,...says the original version was 2:27mins. But the version he has released is pretty much the directors cut and he is happy with it! im glad he is as i wasnt an always thought the pacing and length of the film was RUBBISH!

Yeah, it seems fairly clear that what Ridley Scott is discussing, are scenes deleted from the Feature for Story reasons, not cuts for Editing reasons.
What the interviewer seems literally fixated on is trying to get him to say that there will be a Director's cut - apparently based on an assumption that there is a fat juicy, "Original Cut" waiting somewhere, perhaps because Scott has done it before - and, I suppose, he wants the scoop.
He keeps coming back to it, in those terms - no matter how many times it's answered.
Ridley talks in his usual circles a little bit, by way of answering that the released film is the Director's cut and all this additional stuff people are discussing will be Extras, not added back to the Feature as, "he's so happy", with it right now.
Well, I'm glad he's happy as well. However, I will remain astonished that he is.
