There's a very good chance that had Ridley Scott stayed at the BBC in the 60s he would have ended up directing Dr Who episodes. No doubt Dr Who fans mourn the loss to the programme, although Scott probably has different feelings on the matter. BTW, thanks Svanya for making the link clickable.

You dont need Ridley scott to make a silly program like doctor who - its like a comedy :P ! I mean they portray the doctor as seriously intelligent then he just stands next to the tentacles and lets himself get suckered :D ....
