Yes unfortunately your not the only one feeling that way. But I do think at least some parts and kind of the over all main idea was actually quiet good. And I do hold out for some things making more sense possibly after the directors cut comes out and sequels / website stuff virals...?

Did you read any of the other posts on this website? There is a multitude of valid interpretations of the film, exposition of the plot and its relationship to the Alien platform, and there are interviews, particularly the post premeire interviews not sensitive to spoiling the plot where Ridley Scott and others discuss what the film is about. Pleae, please go back and read these, look at on you-tube and then tell me "no answer, no explanation". This is quite possibly THE most analyzed film since 2001 when social media and sites like this didn't even exist yet. Avail yourself!

Don't worry you don't have to like that. But remember that you need to adjust your expectations from here on. Interesting sci-fi flicks are history, now a days movies are made for studio profit and to sell pop corn in multiplex. Welcome to 2012 and enjoy short attention span world.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

Being the most analyzed movie since 2001 does not necessarily make Prometheus a good movie. Even if the analysis makes the plot make sense, the movie can still be a bad cinema experience. All the analyses in this world won´t erase bad acting and clichés en masse.

What are you talking about @Sky ? If anything Prometheous has made people question the meaning of the movie. That includes yourself. Your always commenting on the film in a number of threads. And stop being naive. When has hollywood ever done anything if it was not for a profit. Its a business, and your the consumer.
Also Im sorry you did not like the film @Crayven- but I do have to inform you that Prometheous was never intended to be a prequel for Alien. Mr. Ridkey reapeted in interview after interview that Prometheous was not a prequel but it did take pkace in the Alien universe. It was a stand itself film.

I think its just getting more extreme though...just imagine when china becomes the biggest market - if it does films will have to panada to them more and not americans - it will be strange...
