Yeah, they kind of have a resemblance, but I don't think it was on purpose. The Weyland logo has more a relation to Ancient Egipt. But I see your point.

I think that is too much digging into symbolism. Many air service logos also look the same. anyway, Prometheus didn't made this much deep sense.

Thank you for your support Custodian.Now take a look at some Weyland uniform badges from Alien,and as you can see they are not even stylized.

By closing the 'wings' on the Weyland symbol,,the 'W' is completely covered.. With Weyland and his Company knowing more than we do,,to me it is a sign that the company is connected to the Engineers,,,and expalins why David seems to know so much,,,

What I find interesting is that Weyland quotes a piece of [i]Thus Spoke Zarathustra[/i] in one of the viral trailers. The main character in that novel is a member of an ancient religion Zoroastrianism. The symbol used to represent that religion is very similar to the Weyland-Yutani logo used in Alien. Apparently, the logo is just a first choice and it has nothing to do with the Ancient Egyptians symbols and inscriptions. According to my friend Alexandra Watkins of http://eatmywords.com/ there are logo choice that is very complemented when uses the idea of unique aspects, though different in some guidelines to protect intellectual rights.
