Came across a vid on Youtube that I hadn't seen before and thought that I would post it for some of you that also haven't seen it. I assume that some of you have though. Scientists destroy Prometheus! To me, it seems like they are taking a little too much pleasure in ripping it to peaces!

The poster was good though!

I did read about someone saying that they thought dysgenics was the reason : Your text to link here... :s but I really don't buy that theres no evidence that was there intention in the film.

I do not know from what point of view, some of you are doing the behavior of Milburn review, you must not forget the mixture of feelings and sensations experienced by Milburn and Fifield. 1 - make the most important discovery in the history of mankind! 2 - Transit through totally unknown places in almost complete darkness. 3 - see and hear without notice, the holographic recording of beings That are run through the tunnel. 4 - find bodies of alien beings 5 - we must add the fact of wanting to leave the spot (and then, Milburn and Fifield Were experiencing a mix of emotions and feelings: such as fear, panic, rage, claustrophobia, loneliness and many others. Now , add to this the fact , getting locked in almost total darkness , in a place that gives them plenty of negative feelings , do not forget the despair that naturally arises in such moments , ( the needfor want to be or become the place that provides the security and peace ) (no doubt a geologist and biologist , were not prepared to assimilate this set of emotions , were not prepared to withstand the pressures exerted by these feelings ) . seen from this point of view (which is also the most natural experience for a human being " not ready " ) , I must say : The erratic behavior of Milburn ( when encountering the hammerpede ) was completely normal (of course this " I was stupid ," but in what can be called normal 'circumstances given ) . we have a lot of negative emotions mentioned above , we add to this a pinch of adrenaline and have a stupid behavior Milburn ! .

@HICKS; Excellent rational (Is that right?) Yes, he is on a foreign planet and encountered all these amazing things that may have made him dizzy with wonder and released adrenalin. Maybe we could all look at it from that point of view and move on. I really don't want to rip Prometheus apart! As I've said, I love it, i just want the hate to dissipate!

The poster was good though!

Hicks nailed it. The only reason you think it's "stupid" is because you are looking at it in retrospect. Letting in Kane's son was dumb as hell, but the situation is what produced the human error of the spaceship captain making that call that was against the rules and proved to be an extremely stupid decision.

OMG!!! Have you actually seen ALIEN? It was ASH who let them in and we all know what his agenda was! Ripley was adamant that they were NOT to be let in. Watch it again for fucks sake!!!!

Kanes son ?! Do you mean letting in kane? That was ash anyway he was on corporate orders and if you remember Ripley said no - absolutely air tight plausibility.

@ djamelameziane I'm pretty sure, that, if I, the person who lived this set of emotions would come out running anything that moves. but in the context of Milburn and Fifield, they had a job, and most importantly, they had a mission to fulfill!. If you have a Millionaire by contract, (not that I think I ran out of the first thing you see moving!) (I'm just stupid to 12:00 pm)

Okay, you're both acting like bitter fanboys now. I know what happened, JESUS CHRSIT, but it was Dallas that was begging to let him in and he was the captain! It was ultimately his fault, even if Ash intervened to move things along in that direction. And yes, Kane's son was already inside him, good grief. I'm sorry Necronom 4 the fact I pointed out you don't know much about Dan O'Bannon's relationship with the film must have gotten under your skin.

Except when it comes to rescuing a cat, then you will use similar rationalizations to defend it.

another interesting point (before criticizing destructively) is the fact that: Professional large hierarchy structure (within the crew made for the Prometheus mission) was crap. But this corresponds to the fact that Peter Weyland had already, with their last months or years of life. THE fact that Holloway and Shaw appear before him, and offered him the idea of finding the (fountain of youth or 'eternal life) shit is like saying: Come on! Now! (Take this!, This, and this one) "but let's go now! with such actions, it can not form a professional structure (solid), I mean for example: Professionals in: security physicians protocols Logistica quarantine etc. Weland not have much time and it's obvious that things were structured more or less as before mentioned. That may be because, not even many of the crew were known.

Cut down on every point and still fighting lol. I knew you would say the captain next - yes he was shit scared. Butt trying to open a door is nothing like putting your face in a 9ft snakes wttack zone lol. Ok well its clear your inability to understand alien matches your pronethean one its like trying to teach Christians the universe is 13.7 billion years old not 10000 it just aint gonna happen lol. And theres someone risking there life for a pet google it there\'s hundreds more : Your text to link here... siiighhh... anyway lets lets some other people chat now eh! I just relised the captain was trying to run away from danger as well as trying to save kane makes sooo much more sense than Milburn its crazy.

Reading your posts is like listening to someone talking with marbles in their mouth. "Butt trying to open a door is nothing like putting your face in a 9ft snakes wttack zone lol." Just had to copy/paste that for the humor. "Ok well its clear your inability to understand alien" What do I misunderstand? What was not totally idiotic about bringing a man with a fg alien spider attached to his face and demon spawn inside him inside the space ship? Milburne's reaction was situational, just like Dallas's idiotic rationale in that case. If that doesn't work, Kane got close up the alien egg after he saw movement! Yes, the Milburne set-piece was inspired by another "dumb" moment in Alien. How can you seriously gloss over that?

So u would leave him outside? Lol and again an egg is not quiet as Scarry as a 9ft snake lol this is funny - yes it was dumb butvtheres like 3 -4 stupid mistake parts in alien theres like 100 in prometheus. Anyway like I said moving off topic and time to let others chat I think its all plain to see - nothing more to say... one day you'll realise :-)

Haha. Ok, I know that it was Dan o Bannon who originally conceived the story of StarBeast, later to become ALIEN, and that he enlisted the help of his friend Ron Shusset. Their original main character was Roby (a male) who later became Ripley (a female) but basically remained as the same character as Roby. Are you really so stupid to think that I don't know that Ripley was originally a man (Roby?) ALIEN has been my favourite film since I was a kid. I know ALOT about it. If you have any questions about ALIEN just ask me.

The poster was good though!

I'm amazed your inability to understand things (I have never said that the behavior of Milburn "Nó out crazy") (on the contrary, I agree with it!) and say Milburn behavior was completely erratic! (Or as you say "Milburn went crazy") Simply, I am explaining (Milburn why he went crazy!) And that's what you! not want to understand! You're like those guys who read for reading! and not quite understand nothing of what they are reading because your fucking arrogance and ignorance, not allowing them a greater understanding of things! No offense, but this is the outline of a debate!

And BTW, Dallas is bound to tell the crew inside to let them in, who would want to die out there on that godforsaken planetoid? Ultimately, it was ASH's choice to let them in. Like I said before, we all know what his agenda was.

Is that what you do when you lose arguments, claim they were trolling? I was talking about Dallas making the decision to let in Kane and the face hugger, not himself. Stop trying to twist out of that. Ash didn't make the decision for Dallas, he just pressed a button for Christ's sake. It was the captain screaming for them to let in the guy with the space spider attached to his face. If you think Roby would have done everything the same, which includes James Cameron's character development (the majority of her development btw) you aren't being honest. Even the cat thing wouldn't have happened that was later extrapolated into her relationship with Newt. I'm not trying to dismiss O'Bannon's importance, but he isn't responsible for Ripley existing.

Who's lost the argument? Are you for real? ASH knew very well that while Dallas was off the ship, he wasn't incharge. That was in the film for crying out loud. Ripley say's it. ASH CHOSE to ignore Ripley's demands, because of his orders from the Company! LOL He wasn't taking orders from Dallas you muppet.

The poster was good though!

You are forgetting Much of the History of Alien ! Do not forget that Ash was included at the last moment in the mission I remember a conversation between Dallas and Ripley, Ripley asked Dallas about his science officer and former Dallas also asked about the reliability of Ash ( if this was reliable ) . Dallas responded by saying that the company took his last scientific officer and put in place to Ash, and on the subject of trust, Dallas Ripley replied " No I do not trust !" . Ash obeyed no one except the company ( Weyland Yutani ) through "mother" Master of the Nostromo computer. It is here the logic part , Weyland Yutani company ( knew that route , planets , moons etc, there was something , I think more than anything, I knew the route, (which could be the path or course of Prometheus ) in order , what I mean is that ash had their own priorities , ( granted by the company ) do not forget that by order of the company ( all other priorities are secondary or expendable ) " crew expendable " .

To Necromon: You're a goon. I know that was Ripley's argument. But it was still Dallas, the fucking captain, who wanted to bring his carcass on board. Ash said he was following orders, you tool. He just ignored Ripley's assumed authority because he was the company spy. Dallas fucked up, not Ash, the fucking cyborg spy with the hidden agenda. You can't twist out of that. You're full of it. Just trying to change the argument to make me look like I didn't know Ash was motivated by his own agenda, when the fucking point was that Dallas still wanted and brought Kane onboard in the regular parts of the ship! Anyways, you and the guy who types like a 13 year old texting her bffs can get a life. You're terrible at debating things. Good night, I hope you have one of Giger's nightmares where you're done over by one of his creations.
