Almost no plot at all, horrible acting mostly, simply throw explosions onto the scene to earn cash, NO! That's not how a proper movie is made. But Alien vs Predator 1 on the other hand, was a success. An engineering of the finest. And here's why.
I notice Alien vs Predator getting alot of hate due to the aliens/predators being tied together with ancient civilizations on earth. I see why not? Earth was a planet filled with intelligent and obeing lifeforms, something perhaps hard to come by in the galaxy.
Aliens being weak and target practice = That's is a completly uneccesarry comment. Predators, regarding the name, are predators. Hunting is a sport and their goal in life. They've been hunting several civilizations (as seen in Predator 2) for millions of year. Why wouldn't The Aliens be among those? And they're absolutely not week i can tell you. Yes during the flashback showing The Predators getting overwhelmed by thousands of Aliens aren't weak. They managed to kill the predators, but they aren't smart enough to deactivate a nuclear device. No species but the Predator are. And remember the Fight Scene? It's strong "and" intelligent. Even managed to kill the Predator. Especially when the Alien began bleeding acid, it used it for it's own advantage by throwing it against the Predator. That's not dumb.
Mostly focused on humans: Yes, i see this ain't a strong site of the movie. But it requires a plot, i myself couldn't find a better.
Human/Predator relation = This part i like very much. They're in need of escaping, and the only way to survive is teamwork. The Predators has been cooporating for ages (Hence the aztecs), why wouldn't they do it again? Yes they may be vicious, destructive animals, but that doesn't make them less open for opportunities. Ofcourse it could've killed "Lex" when the fight was over, but that'd be stupid. She gained it's trust.
But these are simply my viewpoints why it's a perfect film, even my favorite in the franchise (Maybe because i grew up with it). I'm welcome to chritisism. And apologies about the english if i'm having some grammar mistakes. I'm danish you see.
