Well, the green ball appears to be a holographic keyboard, and I have no idea if there is an official name. I lent my copy of Prometheus Blu Ray to my father, so I can't take a look at the "The Furious Gods" documentary, sorry for no being able to help.

I like to think the pink things are big long flat slabs of brain. And yes the orb appears to be an interactive display. Or, its just a peculiar green orb meant to give you the heebie jeebies.

that sorta scares me. makes you think that the whole ship can become alive at any stage and sorta suck you in.

oduodu- I definitely think its alive. its more fun that way. And yes, it would need a respiratory system to manage whatever the engineers breathe, so maybe it could suck you in. Unless its just open to the elements, as it does appear to be. Like a giant flying basement with no door.

for the sake of non ambiguity the image above shows the green ball of energy i  am refering to.

in this image i sometimes wonder if the engineers were looking at the cryo pods BECAUSE THEY ALREADY HAD HOLES IN THEM.

This is a Hollogram play back the Holes are there because thats what happened to 3 of them i guess, the easy way to explain this is the Running Ghost Engineers scene if David had not activated that Hollogram but they found that door anyway the Engineers body would still had been there.

This image on set shows what lies under those Cryo Pods... and yes Chest Busted Engineers and by Chest Busted this hole is larger than the traditional Xeno and also the one that is on the Space Jockey but then the hole in the Cryo Pod itself is consistant with traditional Chest Buster Hole, or maybe Face Huger burn hole like we saw in Alien 3 however the Hole in Prometheus is about Chest Height not Face and so we have to assume its as a result of a Chest Bursting.

Chest Busted Engineers? Maybe that fits with the roar in the tunnels when David activated the first holograms that show us Engineers who seem to be running away from something.
