@BigDave yes, the guy's pretty good with his theories, and this would make a lot of sense. Strangely I had NEVER seen the deleted scenes with the Engineer encounter with Weyland, and I cannot believe those were left out of the movie! Had those been included, a lot of loops would have been closed and more sense would've been made of the whole thing.

I totaly agree with You. When I first saw the deleted scenes in the blueray special edition I thougt: Why did they leave this out? In the final cut You got to see a big, mute, bald guy goin bezerk, ripping Davids head of, throwing people about and then tries to leave. Did'n make any sense.

I like the lawrence of arabia link, he rebels against his superiors to carry out his own agenda, which is what david may do in the film. Maybe david has just snapped after the abuse from humans and the engineer, thats a bit shallow for a story this great.

David is really a espionage/sabotage/destroy android, as we can see in prometheus, and plays possum but is actually undermining everyone for weylands agenda. David has the engineers knowledge, their weapons, experiment data from the crew, and their ships, that means weyland do too, isnt it better to eliminate the engineers anyway, especially as they were going to 'do' earth and 'did' david? Id be angry if i had my head ripped off.
