Your tech desires for future offerings in the Alien universe

There already having been literature and fan fiction for the alien universe, which tech do you want featured in coming movies? Existing or theoretical, is there something you feel would immerse you in the grandeur of future space travel?

Do you feel there is a necessity for immediate travel of some sort, or do you feel it takes a backseat to improved loadouts and payloads?

I myself would like to see a combination of both, with the incomprehensible size of deep space in mind.
