A bad alien movie is still better than no movie. While I'm disappointed in the final product, I see there is a great movie buried in there (like Prometheus) but needs a new edit and better flow. Cut out the corny stuff, bad cgi and return the suspense and serious aspects of series.

My feeling completely, just like Star Wars, everyone all pissy about TFA blah blah blah....hey! At least we got a Star Wars movie!

I felt if they had used more of the shoulder cam footage shown in the marketing videos instead of showing us exactly what was going on it would have given our imaginations some more room to run rampant and it would have been a nice homage to the scene in Aliens when the marines were in the hive.

I thought a lot of the marketing footage that was not used in the movie was done really well while the CGI, in my opinion, showed us way too much of the creatures.

I the agree that given the choice of a bad alien movie or nothing, we will take it.

But come on - the franchise survives on some great fans who have been let down at times.

As for a:c - It was decent enough for what it is. An action flick for a casual fan or action/horror fan. Nothing more

The trick was to give us some answers - then everyone (just about) would of been ok with it.  Lets face it, we have put up with some poor films but are here anyway. Fighting on.

Take This.... This is the blood of our lord

I actually don't agree, a bad movie is not preferable to no movie. There is always the option to re-watch the old/original movies, but nothing can erase the lore from any new bad ones. (Not talking about the Alien series specifically, i'm talking about all movies in general)

This forum has now become a depression - recovery support group for people who could have written a better movie.

Unfortunately a bad movie can put a franchise in the freezer for many years. Maybe 20th Century Fox should have a block on the Sci-Fi Channel, where they could air cheaper made flicks related to the Alien universe. They could experiment and see what works and what doesn't.
