Were the Engineers able to use the weather as a defense?

I always thought the weather was manipulated by the Engineers.  Too many weather changes cannot be coincidence. 

First off..... I love this question !!

Here are my thoughts....

In P i thought that after the ampule room had been "Tampered With" , somehow a change brought on several potential threats. Not only do the Murals change  and indicate human beings have affected the atmosphere. We then have the storm front !!

I believe this is an Engineer process which is bringing the storm on LV 223.

1. It was started after the Atmosphere change in the Ampule Room.

2. It blew from DIRECTLY behind the line of Pyramids which would be the angle to help clear the paths t the Pyramids,  yet if it was a random storm, why wouldnt it come from a different angle. there are so many to choose from lol

Terrible explanation im wiped again but i still say it was caused as defence or deterrent rather than mother nature.

The Storm covering the Planet could hide it from long scans or it may just turn out to be a Planet that can be moved by the Gods technology

Remember also that in Alien LV-426 was subject to violent storms that only abated when Dallas, Lambert, and Kane approached the derelict Juggernaut.

Guys, I am posting here again after reading Chris's post where Sir Ridley said the Engineers did not create us, or the Xenomorph.  He mentioned the ones above the Engineers (The Creators of the Humans) could manipulate weather patters & cause natural disasters?  Maybe they caused the silica storm on LV-223 & created the weather around Planet 4, as well?

Have you noticed the snowy mountain in the distance (second image)? Doesn't that imply an earthlike climate? We know that the crew of Prometheus couldn't breathe outside the ship, but they could inside the temple. The engineers had some kind of terra-forming device inside the temple, but it was open towards the climate outside (the outer door was open).

It could be coincidence or indeed it could be weather that is manipulated by Engineer Technology.

The Gold Device on the top of the Cathedral is interesting, we have to ponder what purpose could this be for?

As far as the Weather Manipulation, i had a source who passed on this from early 2015 many months before any information on AC came about, we this source did say those above the Engineers have Technology they use to Manipulate/Terra-form Worlds and they have used this Technology in the past not only to shape worlds but also to wipe the slate clean and so the Ice Age, the Deluge (Great Flood) are not natural phenomenon but manipulated events by use of the Hierarchies Technology.

And as far as Planet 4, if they have Technology that causes Storms that interfere with radio/sensors then to a degree it could act like a cloaking device of sorts.
